Government of Kerala, Department of General Education has been using FOSS based software in the teaching-learning process of Science and Mathematics since 2007. However, the state had no quality FOSS based software in languages especially in English which are in line with the curriculum and learning outcomes. In 2019-20 KITE, a Govt of Kerala, enterprise, developed a FOSS based, easy to adopt, free to use and deploy anywhere digital E- learning E3 English platform for enhancing the English language proficiency of students. The three components of E-Cube English, viz., E-Language lab, Samagra E-Library, and E-Broadcast provide personal experience to students in listening comprehension, oral expression, reading comprehension, constructing oral and written discourses and creative expression. The digital learning experience and the integrated formative assessment and feedback by teachers promote enhanced English competency to all students.
